Our Project - Integrated Child Development Services

Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) is the only major national programme that addresses the health and nutrition needs of children under the age of six. It seeks to provide young children with an integrated package of services, including supplementary nutrition, health care and pre-school education. Since the needs of a young child cannot be addressed in isolation from those of his or her mother, the programme also extends to adolescent girls, pregnant women and nursing mothers. ICDS services are provided through a vast network of ICDS centres, better known as "Anganwadis".

India is the home to the largest child population in the world. “The development of children is the first priority on the country’s development agenda, not because they are the most vulnerable, but because they are our supreme assets and also the future human resources of the country”. Stri Shakti is supplying Cooked food & Weaning Food to Anganwadis. This cooked foods & weaning foods are prepared by Self Help Groups (SHG) of Stri Shakti. Each Self Help Groups are consisting of 10 women. This SHG’s are formed by Stri Shakti for making independent groups to work together.
